Business and Commerce

The terms business and commerce are twin. But these terms carry different meaning. A business holds many activities such as planning, advertising, selling, buying, marketing, accounting and supervising. Manufacturing products, selling products or services, consulting, are only few examples of business. But commerce focuses on buying and selling part of a business. Commerce is an abstract idea. Business is much more than just buying raw materials and selling the products. Business is more physical in the sense that it can be owned by a person. Commerce is a subset of business and it deals with accounting of financial transactions. Government of India and state governments are promoting entrepreneurship. They are encouraging young engineering and management graduates in this regard. Skill development initiative scheme of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India has very rightly devised the sector BSC. It is a boon and benefit to the society. All the seven modules of Business and Commerce are of vital importance to all. The modules are interlinked as they should be. The entry qualification of each module is graduation. Duration of each module is 480 hours. If an aspirant intends to complete all the modules, he/she has to invest 3360 hours. In return, the successful (ACE qualified assessor) shall gain an all-round exposure of the ‘Business and Commerce’ sector. The knowledge can obviously be utilised for assessment. Added to this the knowledge would be a life-long asset. One entrepreneur also shall get a lead. Lifestyles are sporadically changing that are bringing variations in the mind-set of the society. Young generations are now less hesitant in launching own company. Directorate General of Training (DGT) has developed the syllabi of the modules in a way to help the Gen Y. Getting this assessment handbook in possession teachers can develop question papers and assignments. In the classroom assignments may be given to the students. Any student/candidate will derive benefit from the contents. Any VTP/VTC can get this handbook for library to help the students. The institutes approved to conduct ACE examinations can originate development of question papers.
